About Us

The Troop was estiablished in February of 1997.  We are chartered by St Andrew United Methodist Church.  We have weekly Troop meetings on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at St Andrew United Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch just NW of Highlands Ranch Pkwy and University Blvd.

We are considered a medium to large troop with about 80 active scouts. We implement a "classic" BSA program that emphasizes a boy-lead program, with rich program content, monthly overnight outings, annual summer camp opportunities aimed both at new scouts and older high adventure scouts, and ample trained adults to monitor, mentor, and supervise the youth.  Background activities to support special events are spread among our adults.  New scouts are assigned to New Scout Patrols for their first year.  All Patrols are assigned one dedicated Assistant Scoutmaster to ensure an adequate Adult-to-Scout ratio for monitoring and mentoring.  We seek regular opportunities to engage in service projects not only to allow for rank advancement, but to emphasize a commitment to our community and chartered organization.  This Troop develops frequent opportunities to connect scouts with their moral compass, reminding them to live the Scout Oath and Law as a life long pursuit, and to aim high by keeping their sights set on obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

Our Troop is unique in that we maintain a special Honor Guard. The scouts try out for the "team" and wear the full BSA uniform with a black or red beret, and white gloves.  They are dedicated and practice so they can maintain the highest respect for themselves, their Troop, the BSA program, the community, and the Nation's Colors during flag ceremonies.

Our Troop and its faithful implementation of the BSA program results in an exceptionally high scout retention rate both with new scouts and older scouts.
